General Care Discussion :: Does the plastron look ok?

My turtle managed to climb up and over the front of the tank while we were out. And of all the places he wound up in, of course it was an air vent that had no grate on it. We were able to get him out safely and he's swimming around happily, has his appetite, and seems fine. His shell seems good to, just want to check here to make sure it looks good (it feels good).



PS. We have set up some temporary guards to stop him from climbing out and will be building an ATBA within the next month.

To give you the best answer we need a picture of your turtle dry. It kinda looks like its about to shed - but hard to say with light reflection

Yeah I can feel the scutes flaking a bit so I think he's gonna shed.

yea everything looks good, but you look all over the turtle if he fell. Doesnt mean he landed right side up. When my turtle he landed on his front and chipped the corner of his shell. Looking around the edges of his shell he still looks good.

Yeah the rest of his shell and limbs/head look good. I just know that if the plastron is red (and being paranoid, that's what I saw) it's not a good sign. Just making sure from the experts!
