from what i understand they will try and eat anything that is possible to be eaten. my fathers friend has 3 RES and he used to keep them in a tank with a cleaning fish and they ate the fish.

Oh I know he'll eat whatever is in there, in fact he went on a killing spree a few days ago and killed some more of my snails. Now I'm watching to make sure he doesn't kill one of my smaller apple snails as I want it to get bigger and maybe bred them..maybe. But I'm more worried about the sudden nipping of everything from people to everything in his tank is mainly it. This behavior is just very different from his normal and after seeing him try and attack my big apple snail it kinda worries me as he is going after things way bigger compared to his little self.

Yeah, I had a golden apple snail once.. Toby ate it. Whatever you put in that tank that is alive and is smaller than him, he will eat it if he can catch it. And when it comes to a turtle vs. snail race, the turtle will always win.

Ahh smaller than him..well he thinks he can take on a full grown applesnail...I'm waiting for the apple snail to turn around and nip him back.
