So from reading around the forums and such I see that you cannot sex the turtle until its about 4" long.

Anyone else as impatient as I am?? My RES are about an 1 1/2" and from what I've read as well it won't be anytime soon that they are around 4 inches!

I felt the same way during the first year when I had Charlie. I kept taking pictures regularly and comparing them, but to no avail. Fortunately, his tail and nails started growing when he was about 3 inches so I didn't have to was as long as other people.

I just used a somewhat neutral name and called him a "he" .... Put it out of mind and he turned out to be a male.

Oh yea and it gets worse as they get closer to the 4inch mark haha. 3 of my diamondbacks are past the 3inch mark and one is close to 3.5. I really wanna know if any are gonna be male.

mine is finally like 3.8" and im pretty certain female
