Hi there,

I'm wondering what's going on with my baby RES's shell. I'm debating getting her some calcium supplements. She has some pieces on the shell that i can only really describe as 'shiny' and 'metallic' looking. Not sure what that means. Any advice? Thanks!

Is the metallic a goldish color and around the edges of the shell? If so it's normal when they are growing and shedding.

Yep i have to agree, sounds like the scutes on your turtle are about to shed.

But a clear pic when the shell is dry is always helpful :)
