Dry docking is when you take your turtle out of its aquarium environment and place it in an insulated container that is warmed by either a ceramic heat emitter or a light bulb. Dry Docking is usually done when a turtle is sick or hurt. The absence of water helps certain medications do what they need to do without being washed away.
When heating with a light bulb, make sure the turtle has somewhere in the shade to escape to. All reptiles must be able to thermo-regulate.
