Today I have noticed that James is not acting like his normal self. He goes from being fine one minute, to suddenly acting very agitated. He flails around the tank, almost like he's trying to climb out of the water. He used the side of the filter and the side of the tank at one point to pull himself out of the water and then just dropped back down after a few seconds. I haven't seen him on the platform at all today though. My water temp is at 74 degrees right now and the light is off, but I can still hear him flailing around. Jesse has no signs of any weird behavior and neither of them look like they have any injuries. I'm not about to reach in the tank though, while I don't know what is causing James' different behavior.
Has anyone else ever experienced anything like this? I work all day tomorrow so I can't watch him throughout the day like I did today and I'm a little worried about what could be going on. I've had Jesse and James for 4 years or so I think and I've never seen either of them act like this. I haven't done anything to the water to change it, and it's been a couple weeks since I've cleaned it. I was planning on doing that this weekend, but it's not like the tank is too filthy or anything right now. Their diet hasn't changed either unless you count them wanting to eat more than they have in the last couple of months.
