My tanks temp. is around 80. Why do my turtles hover around the heater when it comes on at night? The temp doesnt fall below 78. :?

Mine do the same thing. Prob because they like the small amount of heat it puts off to keep the tank right or just because its something they can hold on to. Most turtles sleep in the water so that's prob just there fav spot to hold onto.

Mine does the same thing, she actually often wedges herself inbetween the tank glass and heater, so the heater is over her shell.
