I've read having a basking light in an area of the dry dock can help them focus and feel comfortable enough to lay eggs.

I did that. She laid one egg this morning in the water. She HATES the nesting area...A LOT. I dont think she will ever lay eggs in it..shes too nervous in there. I am going to see if I can find a container that will fit in her tank and attach a ramp on to it. I think I am as stressed as her lol..I am afraid she wont lay them all!

I think in the Reproduction area here it says that they'll eventually just lay them all in the water if they dont in the dirt/sand/whatever lol.

"A nest area is very important for her to lay her eggs naturally. If she does not lay her eggs, she might lay eggs in the water or retain them, which would cause egg binding. If the turtle has laid one or two eggs in the water, you still need to provide a nesting area. It is likely that the entire clutch was not laid and she is still gravid."

My big girl always lays her eggs in the pond, even though she has a large sandy area outside of it.

Oh yea i wasn't trying to say that a nesting area isn't important, just that she would eventually have the eggs one way or another. (assuming no internal damage was done)

So far so good..I guess. She laid another this morning in the water. Man, this is taking forever! I am glad they arent both laying eggs.. this is stressing me out lol
