So iv noticed that one of my larger turtles has white spots all over its shell. do you think this is the start of a fungal problem?

They are currently living outside with loads of sun. could the sun be doing this?

yeah they have a nice spot to be in the sun and they get at least 10-12 hours of sun a day when ever htey want to bask. they bask daily aswell. whats the best way to get rid of it all. seems to be spreading at a nice pace.

Is it spreading to the others yet? The most effective is usually silver sulfadiazine cream, though it has no effect on certain fungi.

Also make sure you do 100% water change on the water outside to get ride of the bacteria causing the fungas in the water. I also use the Repti Turtle Sulfa Dip By Zoo-med in combination with silver sulfadiazine cream. That seems to work for me and stops it from spreading. Usually the fugus look wont go away till after a shed.

how much does the sulfa dip and cream cost? do i just get it from a pet store? never had to use it before. and I think one of my baby turtles has one nice sized white spot on the very edge of its shell. the others have nothing tho. i did a 100% water change, cleaned the tank out and everything, filter and all aswell. what causes something like this so fast? I think this turtle came withfungus from someone off craigslist

Sulfa dip can be bought in a pet store. The SSD cream costs me $20 for a small container, though you don't need much. If the cream will work on the fungus your turtle has, it does so very quickly.
