I have had Tucker's tank set up for two weeks or so. I am aware that it takes a few weeks for the bacteria to grow and break down the ammonia. I was just wondering about water changes. Right now my test kit reads the ammonia at 2.0 ppm. The kit is the API (Aquarium Pharmaceuticals) brand. The test kit reads up to 8.0 ppm. I didn't know if/when it was necessary to do a partial water change. I did one Sunday, and I had planned on doing one every Sunday until the level drops and the bacteria starts growing/working. With the levels at 2.0 should I start doing daily water changes, or can they be weekly? I wasn't sure if that was a "dangerous" level or not. I know RES are tough, but I don't want him to suffer. What do you all think? Thanks!
