General Care Discussion :: Question about my turtles health

I have a new RES, I just got him about four days ago. I saw this morning some white, kind of transparent thing on the base of his neck where his head goes into his shell. I noticed this on a lot of the other turtles at the other pet store I was looking at. I was wondering what this is and if it is good/ bad? Thank you!

It's on his skin? If it's thin and wispy in water, invisible out of water then it's just normal skin shedding. It could be fungus too which wouldn't be surprising if it was spreading around in a pet store. A pic would help. And welcome to the site

Well this was at the other store, he was the only one at the store I had gotten him at he was only there for a day. And thank you! I think it might just bee the skin shedding, because it is invisible out of the water. He has been basking alot and his shell looks like its flaking I don't know if that is good or not?

They'll shed scutes too. Pictures might help if you have concerns about the skin or shell.

It has actually gotten alot better I think it was just a little dead skin and shell
