General Care Discussion :: two females "mating dance"

I have two female painted turtles that are both 8 years old-but only 4 1/2 inches long. they get along, but now and then i catch them doing the mating dance thing with their arms. they like spread them out into the others face and shake them very quickly. is this bad?

They're telling each other to back off. As long as there are no other signs of aggression, it's OK.
