I just got a basking lamp for my 2 RES. how long should I leave it on for during the day?

Usually around 10 to 12 hours...but no more than 12 hours and no less than 8 hours

I try to loosely mimic how long the days are. A little longer in the summer, a little less in the winter... that may just be me being crazy though

Nope, thats the way most of us do it

That's what I do. I feel like mine wishes I would leave it on 24/7. Baskaholics lol

Thanks:) now I have another question.....I just noticed one of my turtles foaming at the mouth this morning. :/ what does this mean & what should I do??

I think foaming can be a sign of a respiratory infection.
