I can't seem to find the height of the FX5. Can anyone help me out on this?

Thanks,
Austin

Dimensions - 17"H x 16"W (43 cm H x 40.6 cm W)

Here's the product manual too if you would like to look through it. http://www.hagen.com/pdf/aquatic/FX5_user_manual_EN.pdf

17" is just to the top of the canister, you need some clearance above for the hose connections as well, but that is covered in the manual ElectricTurtle linked.
