Water evaporation seems to bit a small issue. I find myself adding a little water to my tank every 2 weeks or my filer acts up.
What do some people do? Its a 40 gallon tank

I just put a full glass of water in everyday when I walk by in the morning the uv and heat your tank gets is going to make it evaporate and it would naturaly anyways those two factors just make it go quicker but adding a little water everyday I noticed keep me from having to add a whole lot at once every few weeks

This is also why partial water changes are a good idea. Water is evaporating, but everything else in the tank is accumulating.
