It seems the red coloring on my RES is fading a bit. It used to be very bright and solid, now it seems a little mottled. Feisty is about 10-12 years old, seems otherwise healthy. Any clues? Appreciate your help.

Could you post some pics of your turtle? I bet it's no biggie, but pictures are always helpful :)

Your turtle could be turning melanistic, it usually happens to males.
