Hey guys,
I have noticed there is quite a bit of moss (or at least some sort of green growth) covering the gravel on one side of the cage, some leaves on a decorative piece, and on a small part of the glass. Its on the side of the aquarium where the Heat and UV lamps are.

I am just concerned if the moss is bad for a RES turtle. If its bad for the water or what I should do about it.

Thanks

Can you post a picture of it? Algae can grow quickly but it's usually not a problem for RES. If the water is turning green, you'd probably want to control it.

I will try to get a picture up as soon as possible.
The water is not green naturally, however, when cleaning, we pump the water into a bucket. That water is green (it wasn't before the algae growth) along with the filter.

Sometimes adding oxygen with a bubbler and less light will take care of the problem. If it doesn't then you have to test your tank water and the water you use to fill it for nitrates and phosphorus. Algae likes them but doesn't like oxygen.
