Taking care of your turtle's overall health.

I just got 2 baby red eared sliders, about one month old, and one of them keeps digging into the gravel beneath the heating rock. The temperature of the water and air are about 75-80 degrees. Is he just tired or is there something wrong?

Mine loves to dig around too, I think it's just a natural thing for them. He also digs up any pellets that may have sunk to the bottom.

What do you mean by heating rock? You should maintain consistent temperature for little turtles, I think 75 might be a bit low.

Can you tell us more about the setup? Location, heaters, temperatures, basking area, lighting, diet, substrate and filter?

Yes please, knowing more about their environment helps us help you.

Did you say gravel? See the sticky at the top of the indoor habitat forum.

When I hear gravel and heating rock in the same sentence, I think of a small tank with gravel in the bottom, very little water and one of those reptile heating rocks.
