Our turtle kiwi flap his front legs on the surface of the water near the front of the glass like crazy making alot of noise. Wondering what thats about could it be begging for food? cose we fed him and a half hour or so later he started flapping again?

Also he does this thing where he tries to bite the water as if hes gasping for air on it or something. However he doesnt do this allll the time only a couple of times a day rest of the time he swims around for a long time and takes regular breaths.

The flapping his front legs sounds like begging for food. He'll eat just about as much as you'll feed him, but it's not good for him. Spencer, my RES, always begs for food if he see's me around. If I stand at the tank and watch him, he'll swim back and forth literally making waves in the tank. I'll occasionally give him a treat, but otherwise he is fed twice a day and has a leaf of lettuce to snack on during the day.

The biting at the water could be him snapping at a air bubble or something, that he is thinking is food on top of the water. Not to sure on that one, but that would be my guess.
