Just something cute that's going along with where this topic is going... I've been letting Wasabi frolic around my apartment and she walks around exploring everywhere... I really don't have to keep a close eye on her since it's pretty turtle proof. She always ends her little adventures under my chair.

As for the danger of sharp nails, I always pick her up from behind so I've never had a problem with her scratching or biting. I think I'd get scratched if I grabbed her on the side though (and probably bitten!) I'm not about to test if she's all hiss and no bite.

LOL @ "all hiss and no bite". Violet gets kissed...on the face. I certainly wouldnt do that with the other three. I was down on the floor with her the other day and she kept coming up and stretching her neck out and burying her face in my cheek. Then she'd walk under and around me and climb up my hair. I love and adore this turtle. she's just an amazing girl

yeah i never heard of cutting there nails to stop mating. the best thing to do is just seperate them or else just destroy the eggs like steve said.
