LOL--Miss Tee latched on to my fingertip by mistake as I was feeding her this morning, and I could not get her to detach! Shoot, I was holding her up in the air, and her jaws were locked !

Just wondering if there is any way to get a turtle to let go? (like slight pressure to the side of the neck or something?)

Good question, I've never had that happen. If it were me, I'd probably apply a little pressure to her cloaca and that would probably do the trick. Most animals don't like when you touch their "butts".

Did she break the skin? What did you do to get her off or is she still chomping?

finally got her off after about 30 seconds (and me waving her around and shouting "Let go, let go") she released

this is nothing. once i was taking turts out the pond to clean there shells n one female a lil more then half grown got me in the forarm n OMG it hurt so bad. she hung on for like a whole 2 min & kept clamping down omg it hurt. a full grown res has the power of a small snapper they can take off tips of fingers

Did you post this as she was latched on?

In the past people have said to gently push inwards so the lack of space will force the turtle to let go.

Yeah kind of pushing inwards def works. That's true for most animals as well so keep that in mind is u get bit by a cat or dog or anything. Next time if there is one don't shake your hand it is going to scare her more which will cause her to bite more. Also I hand feed my turtles and the nope from time to time if you stay calm and just keep doing as you are doing gemeraly mine realize I don't taste like food and just let go.
