General Care Discussion :: Pyramiding?

Ive had my RES since January and Im looking at then and now pictures, and his scutes are very different. Im curious if this is natural shell growth, or if its the beginning of pyramiding? He is 2 inches long, and i feed him 3 baby turtle sticks a day. That is enough to fit in his head, as ive seen described on this board. He has a Solar glo bulb that is a heating and UV light, and i have been putting cuttlebone in with him so he has also been getting extra calcium.

I was worried mine looks the same way I was sacred I over fed him hut I was told its normal growth lines. If you start now introducing him to veggies just a little bit then as he gets bigger he will be used to them and alsothose are just normal growth lines as long as he is getting the proper lighting from what I am told the first shed of scrutes will make it go away

My baby Edgar is about 6 months give or take looks about the same size as yours as well and he's taking to veggies nicely now it took a month or so but I found red leaf lettuce and romaine lettuce work well but I limit the romaine and also he will only eat vegggies in the tank he won't eat them in his feeding bowl so I just put some in there in the am and between my two guys they are gone within a few hours if not I just scoop what's left out b4 I go to bed

It's a bit more abnormal than most I've seen (usually there are 1,2 or 3 extra) but it should be fine. Common problems (pyramiding, fungus) could be more severe so do your best to avoid it.
