I have a 300 gallon rubbermaid stock tank with a 600 gallon pump. I want to purchase a UV sterilizer for this but do not know what size I need or where I can get a good one. Can anyone help me? Thanks so much!

I picked this unit up at The Home Depot. It is rated for up to 650 gallons and can handle a pump up to 800 gph. It worked really well in my pond. It took about 3 days to get completely clear. The nice thing about this unit is that the standard 9W bulb can be swapped with a 13W bulb to filter a larger pond.

Amazon sells the same unit for the same prize, at least it was the same when I was shopping for it.

This place also has cheap ones: http://www.aquatraders.com/

How bad is your algae? Is this something you want to run continuously or just part time?

Thank you! I purchased the one at Home Depot online as my store does not carry it. Can't wait to get it. The algae is not bad now but I know it will get there. I was planning on running it all the time but maybe I do not need to?
Thanks for the help!

I'm not sure, I guess you'll have to experiment with it. Good luck!

I run mine all the time. It's only a 9W bulb, so it's cost won't be noticeable on the electric bill. Not leaving it on all the time, will just be more work for you.
