Taking care of your turtle's overall health.

Angelina STILL hasn't shed. You can tell she needs to. You can see air under some of her scutes, but they still haven't come off. I'm worried she'll get a fungus, because if sair can get under the scutes, can't water?

I'd like to take her outside over the long weekend, so she can get some natural light. Thing is it is pretty hot here this weekend. The temps are supposed to be 90 to mid 90s. So how do I take her out and make sure she doesn't overheat? I can't really let her roam out yard, because I don't have a good way to contain her. Should I put her in her travel container? Do I put water in whatever I put her in or do I leave it dry? How long should I leave her out?

I took her out earlier in the spring, but it was only mid 70s then. I don't want to do anything to hurt her, but I really want to get those scutes to shed.

Giver her some time to shed. As long as they are not retained in thick layers, she should be fine.

You don't need to offer water, especially since it will get warm or hot quickly. Make sure you have a thermometer to get accurate temp measurements. Don't use a small container, she should have room to move around. Check out what happycamper made: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=32365
