General Care Discussion :: in need of help with my new turtles

i took in some adult turtles from a person who i know wasnt taking care of them properly they both look like red ear sliders he said there over 10 years old.....they was in a nasty tank with just enough water.in one end to cover the shell there shells dont look right to me. i went out bought a new 120 gallon ank for them gave them a fluval fx5 filter and created my own basking area. now my question is what can i do to better these turtles health?

I think you on the right path. Just make sure they are getting proper nutrition and that your lighting is right and you should see dramatic improvement.
If you can post close up of the shell both top and bottom it would also be helpful.

pics of set up bare for now am planning sand and backround st least

both strip lights have repti glo 5.0 bulbs and of course there basking light

heater keeps water at 72 deg and i keep basking area around 85 90 deg

It looks like they grew a little too fast (overfed), but good overall. Nearly all aspects of turtle care is important, but fairly straightforward. Congrats on the rescue!
