Taking care of your turtle's overall health.

So the turtle I took in not long ago is making noises like a crying dog when she breaths. Should I be concerned? I never noticed my other two do this but their tank is in the kitchen while she's in the living room. My husband is going insanely it. She's been playing around a lot trying to detach her heater and filter, maybe she's just worked up?

Post up some of your habitat parameters. Turtle size, tank size, water temp, basking temp. and a picture of it. How long has this been going on?

I just noticed it last night when it was quiet in the house and she was banging around attacking her filter. Everytime she came up id hear it.
She's 9inchs currently in a 47g tank water temp is about 75 degrees. Basking temp about 80degrees. She just has a foam dock for basking on. I just got her a few days ago so I donno much about her. I'm looking into a bigger tank for her. When I got her she had no light, no heater, and no uvb.

She is just getting familiar with her new environment, hence the biting of the filter and heater. She'll eventually stop when she becomes used to them.

The "crying dog" noises are a little concerning, but from the sounds of it she's very active. Have you noticed any discharge from her nose mouth?

No discharge that I noticed. Was stairing her in the face last night admiring her lol. Idk I only seem to hear it if she's been really active then comes to the top. When she's calm and breathing I don't seem to hear anything.

Was it like a whistling noise?

I sometimes hear my turtle doing that, especially after a long swim but it's not a constant thing.
