Taking care of your turtle's overall health.

Hey all,My male Thurman is shedding his scutes and along the seams of the scutes are a fine short hair like growth.
He is very healthy and his shell is very good other than the weird growth,I have been giving him salt scrubs with a soft toothbrush as well everyday just thought I would put up a pic before I did it today.

It doesnt look like a normal shell fungus to me , any advice or opinions are welcomed.
Cheers

I'm not sure what it is… I've never seen it as excessive as in your picture. You're able to scrub it off? Is he basking regularly?

Yes,it scrubs off easily.I have been dry docking him a couple hours per day,he is still getting used to his new spot so he is still a little shy.

So it comes back everyday? How does it look after the scrub?

The pics was about 3 days without scrubbing ,daughter was suppose to do it and I assumed she did but she forgot. I will make sure I check daily and do it myself if need be.
It is only between the scutes there is nothing on the actual scute itself and his shell is perfect no soft spots or blemish marks aside from the normal shed.
It is course almost like hair not fungus like at all, after a salt scrub it looks normal again and it isnt all over it seems to be where he is shedding his scutes, the ones already shed are clear in between.
I have been doing steady water quality tests since setting up his new rig and the levels are all excellent ,if it is fungus Im not sure how he could be getting it.

I haven't seen fungus specifically go after the seams. Prior to dry docking I would try the Turtle Sulfa Dip or scrubbing with diluted Betadine instead of the salt.
