General Care Discussion :: Need help. My turtles keep fighting

Hi. Im new here but not to turtle owning.
I have 2 right now,
1 male red eared slider, Titto. Aprox. 5 1/2 inches in lenght (about 6 years old)
And 1 female, Penelope. A huastecan slider hybrid (trachemys venusta cataspila, about 4-5 years old) 9-1/2 inches in lenght.
Theyve always lived peacefully with no problems. Penelope is a fast eater, but never agressive in feeding time. And Titto eats fine at his own pace.
However,
I recently moved them into a DIY indoor pond that holds about 200 gallons of water with a huge basking area/box and a ramp so they could come and go as they please. There is some fish in there and apple snails but for some reason they dont eat them. Its been about 2 months, 0 deaths.
BUT, Titto and Penelope started fighting
He swims up to her (to try and mate or something, idk) and she immediately bites him. She has gotten a hold of his back legs, front claws and back shell, and is very much able to do serious damage. (Shes huge) but i separated them right away so no serious wounds.
I put glass in the entrance/exit of the basking area so i can keep a turtle in there while the other is in the pond. I switch them out every day. But ive noticed that outside of water they don't fight.
Also
Ive tried to re-introduce them in the pond but it starts allover again
I guess what im wondering is, IS THERE ANYTHING I CAN TRY TO GET THEM TO GET ALONG AGAIN? And what might have caused this behavior?
Re-homing one is just absolutely out of the question.
Some personal experiences and tips/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

AND HERE is the homemade indoor pond i built for them, well a section of it ignore the big red circle lol...you can see part of the basking box/area where i keep one while the other is in the water, and the ramp...they still use it but bask in the back on top of those dried up leaves instead.

Some have said that feeding them separately (taking one out during feeding) can help, though I'm a bit skeptical about it's effectiveness. What caused it is uncertain… usually males become aggressive as the mature but it sounds like she's more or less tired of his attempts.

I still think its weird that they only fight inside the pond. When i put both of them in the basking box to feed the fish all is well...he even lays on top of her.
Do you think the big change to a bigger habitat caused this?

Behavior sometimes change when out of water. As for fighting after moving to larger tank… it happens too. It could be they are establishing their territory.

Fortunately, if the situation worsens, your pond has just enough volume to meet minimum space requirements for each, without having to go and buy something like a stock tank for one of them. For example, you can try to make some kind of insurmountable (and non-transparent) barrier inside the pond (giving the female about 125 gallons, and the male 75 gallons). This gives each of them a relatively decent amount of living space. Afterwards, you can construct another basking area on the second half. That way, they can live together without living together--like two people in different hotel rooms, on the same floor.

ive considered dividing the pond but for now all is good with taking one out and leaving the other one in, and switching them off daily. Its better for the fish also
