y is my turtles eyes closed while she is swimming and stuff she will not open her eyes at all plz help plz

Does she open them when she isn't swimming? Do her eyes look different than normal? Can you take a picture of her eyes for us?

Can you provide more information or a picture of your setup? Tank size/turtle age/water temperature/water params/basking bulb etc.

and sh is a hatchling idk how old a friend gave her to me she was fine but now she is slimy i cleaned her and the tank but still slimy and every time i see her her eyes r closed and idk y

Are the eyes open when she's out of water? Has she eaten since you got her? Did she eat when she was with your friend? If she's not eating, you might want to provide a soak for your turtle using Pedialyte and water. Break up some pellets and add them to that solution.

srry for the late post but thx everyone for the help unfortunately sapphire didnt make it she had soft shell syndrome too bad and she had swollen eyes for to long and died from starvation but i did get another turtle his name is bandit and he is one year old and very healthy he is 4 inches but i got him a 55 gallon tank to make him happy and a acrylic turtle dock with a 55 gallon filter and many water plants but he wont bask and i think its because i just got him a couple days ago but im not sure and he stays at the bottom of the tank and walks doesnt swim can anyone tell me y

Very sorry to hear about Sapphire.

Turtles tend to be very cautious and skittish. You'll read many here who have had turtles for years and experienced days to bask after moving to a new tank. Give it a bit before being too concerned.

yea he is doin very well and eats his pellets,plants,and fish but fish once every 2 weeks and I give him plants everyday and sometimes pellets
