General Care Discussion :: basking at night??

Taking care of your turtle's overall health.

Just wondering but do turtles bask at night? My black knob just started to bask when people are around although not often he still does it. I have the exo terra night glo bulb and i guess its basking or sleeping underneath it. It usually swims all day eats and everything but for some reason likes to sit underneath the night glo bulb with all limbs tucked in and part of his tucked in as well. I think its normal he usually goes into the water after a little bit too. Feedback is appreciated, thanks.

They enjoy the warmth. It shouldn't be necessary for him to bask at night, after all he wouldn't do so in the wild. He does risk being dehydrated, so I would avoid it.
