Let us know how it goes! And out of curiosity, how much did the whole vet appointment cost?

Ok, that went too easy. Lol I poked at his face until his mouth opened, then I stuck the syringe in his mouth and squirted just a little. He swallowed it, so I repeated it until he took all of it. Then I held him upright and made him open his mouth to make sure he swallowed it all. Then I put him back in his tank and fed him a piece of red pepper. He went to town eating the pepper.

The vet said it could take up to 48 hours for the meds to work. I'm going to be watching him and keeping out as much poop as possible. Then after a few days, I'm going to strip the tank and scrub it down and the filter, too.

Glad it's going well! $72 is not bad at all, and it sounds like they're pretty competent.

Well, we still have a tapeworm. Round two of meds went in today. ..not nearly as easily. Hoping he got enough to do the job. I've been scooping out segments of worm all day. Uck. Went to check this last time and he was fanning his boy parts for me. Lol that was a disturbing First! Lol

The most recent worms were quite long. I went over a week without seeing anything. I'm guessing he isn't badly infested. The vet did say that she was going to do further research into other ways of treating this tapeworm.

Could he just be eating his waste/old segments and pooping them out again?

I don't think so because I scoop them out immediately, and these are like 4 inch long segments.
