So, I have a quick question and I just wanted to pop by to make sure everything's alright.
My nine year old female RES lives in a 120 gallon tank. She can completely and easily haul herself out of the water under her UVB and heat lamp bulbs, and as most turtles is quite the avid basker. She has a yearly outdoor nestbox that she really enjoys, lays their no problem. As I am a very incompetent do-it-yourself-er I am silently dreading to begin work on her inside nest box + new basking platforms, and have been procrastinating on them greatly, but that's besides the point. When Shakespeare is out of the water outside or basking for say, fifteen or so minutes, I notice that the area around her eyes becomes moist/wet. She sometimes does appear to have tears streaking down her eye area to her beak, but never in heavy amounts, only the run-off. Her basking area stays around 85-92 degrees depending on the conditions, and the water is always around 75-78 degrees. I've been told that this is normal, but I'm paranoid and wanted a second opinion?
