Hi all! I'm new here. I'm hoping someone on these boards will see this and point me in helpful directions.
I'm seeking an experienced and/or motivated turtle caretaker for the months of July and August 2015. I will be away on the west coast conducting an academic research project. In my absence a family member was going to provide live-in care for my 10 year old female red eared slider, but due to an unforeseen health emergency this family member is suddenly unavailable.
I'd love to send my RES to "summer camp" - i.e. another caretaker's environment that could welcome an additional animal for a couple of months. I'm also open to temporarily moving her entire setup to someone's place.
I've been caring for this animal since her infancy and she is very precious to me. I just want to ensure she'll be well cared for while I'm gone. I'd be happy to pay for this service, but I'm trying to avoid the very expensive and somewhat impersonal option of in-home professional pet and aquarium services.
Any help with this would be massively appreciated! I'm leaving for CA in just under two weeks and would love to make progress on this as soon as possible. Please feel free to forward this message far and wide.
