General Care Discussion :: How long should shedding last

On top of her behavioral changes i have noticed she hasnt stopped peeling on her shell since i got her. I got her in the beginning of December and the girl i got her from said she never stopped peeling. Should I be concerned about it?

Regular shedding is healthy. If the pieces are thin and translucent, then it's normal.

Ill take a picture when i get home and upload it. they arent translucent they are kind of a brownish color

Heres pictures of her shell when shes dry. Im just concerned with how long she has been shedding. Is over five months to long?

It looks like it's just taking a long time to get rid of those earlier scutes. I'd just closely check on the shell underneath when they shed, make sure it's firm and normal looking.

At what age do they start to shed their scutes?

They might shed as early as their first year.
