my friend recently found a turtle and we were wondering what kind of turtle is it..can anyone identify this little turtle?

There are a lot of pictures on Austin's Turtle Page if you want to go to work on identification. TNT is right though, a wild turtle needs to remain in the wild. You don't know what kind of diseases he could be carrying, or the tempermant he might have. And right now, you don't even know what kind it is, so you don't know what kind of set up to provide.

The pictures are a little dark, so it is hard to tell. I agree with what the others have already said; if he is a wild turtle, you might want to just take him back where you found him.

If you want to get a turtle as a pet, they are fairly inexpensive (around $20) at pet stores & then you know better what you are getting! :)

LLL reptile has turts for 9.99 so there is no need to keep one out of the wild.
