General Care Discussion :: 20 years old RES doesn't use hind limbs

Hi everyone,
our 20 years old female RES has stopped using her hind limbs, she doesnť stretch them out during basking, she has even problems with getting to her basking spot. When she tries to extend them she pulls her head in and it looks like she has convulsions or like it's painfull for her. To me it seems she has some joints issue. Otherwise she seems to be fit, she eats (we feed her ReptoMin, occasionally raw chicken meat, she loves wine grapes, but she doesn't like vegetable at all) and responds when I touch her. Water temperature is 77F. Have anyone experience with this?
Also some brown spot appeared on her carapax, and her skin around tail and hind libs are slightly pink. I thought it's some kind of infection so I start treating her with malachite green. Would you advise me some other treatment?

Has she ever been gravid? Or had an impaction? Have you felt for eggs? It could be old age, though it might be wise to consult with a herp vet (blood test and x-ray are helpful).

No, never. I tried, but didn't feel any eggs. She never had digestive or other health problems.

Then I would take her to a good herp vet. There isn't much we can do about internal issues. I hope she recovers quickly!
