Hi All,
I need your advise. I have two turtles (red ear slider), male & female, both are 6 years old now. I live in the Middle East and now in the summer temperatures are really high. Air temperatures reach 45-50 celsius in the day time. Also humidity reaches 85-90 %.
I am travelling for a week and am worried if staying constantly at this temperature is safe for my turtles. When I am at home I take into consideration if the turtles enjoy or not. When I see they feel hot and want to go out of their pool I take them out. They don't like much staying at one place, rather change pool, garden and then they will find a place inside the house to sleep.
To clarify their pool is outdoors in the garden of our house. I am planning to put an umbrella so that the Sun is not directly on them. There will be someone coming over to feed the turtles but most of the time they will be alone.
Please advise if these conditions are safe or shall I keep them indoor instead while travelling.
I will appreciate a reply at the earliest as I am travelling after tomorrow.
Thank you.
Virginia
