Taking care of your turtle's overall health.

Last night I bought some rosy reds from Petco and the looked fine. When I got home this evening, I noticed that some of them looked like the had Ick. My question is, if my turtles have ate these fish with Ick on them, will it affect them?

i'm not sure if it can transfer ick,i'd have to research it,but remove the rest of the fish if you haven't already.

It's an external parasite and shouldn't affect your turtles but it will infect new fish you add later. (Hint: Time for a tank and filter cleaning.) It's good you have removed them and you'd probably want to keep them away from your turtles. Don't bother using any Ich medications in the turtle tank and do a full cleaning. I have also heard some aquarium salt helps, though thats up to you.

Well, I'm not going to put the fish back in there, and I'm doing a full tank cleaning today. It was time for one anyways. Thanks for the info, I just wanted to make sure. It was just so weird because it came up out of nowhere.
