Hey everyone......Sam is doing fine.....Just a quick question for you experts......When you feed cuttlebone (backing removed-small pieces), does it tend to add a white film on top of your tank water? I have had some issues with this, and I'm not sure if it's from the cuttlebone residue, or from one of the large river rocks in his tank.......Thanks to all 8) 8) 8)

I have to say that I've found not all cuttlebone is created equal, and I've found that some pieces do tend to leave a film and some don't. I try to look for really white pieces, some of them have slightly darkish areas on them, and those I try to avoid.

You can lessen any film that collects on the top of the water by agitating the surface more and pointing the out take of the filter more toward the surface so that it does this.

Thanks, Marisa.......I will try a different brand next time and see if that doesn't clear things up.........

I forgot to add that rinsing the cuttlebone off before you put the pieces in the tank can also sometimes help... :)
