A friend just told me about Aquarium Salt to help get rid of the fogginess in the water . . . i looked it up online and it said mostly used for fish, just curious if anyone has ever used this stuff, i dont want to hurt my baby. So i would like feedback. . .thanks

I use it but not for that. It is suppose to help prevent harmful bacteria from growing.

Also slows down the growth of some kinds of algae, though I never heard that it "cures" fogginess... I personally am very careful about what I add in the tanks for my turts, and have not used salt at all. Sorry - that was no help at all, huh? :lol:

People do use aquarium salt to help maintain water quality. I've only used it for salt soaks for suspected skin/shell problems.

If you decide to try it out, please make sure you get freshwater aquarium salt and follow the directions. NEVER use table salt.

Aquarium salt is aquarium salt, not table salt.
