Think more turtle, more tank. If you get 2 females, you'll be looking at 240 gallons eventually. That's a lot of tank and resourses, and cleaning, and space.......

Just make sure not to get 1 male and 1 female or 2 males and 1 female. The male may annoy the female in option 1. Then in option 2 the males may fight over the female, and the winner will then annoy the female.

Anna, do you realize that your cute little res will grow up to be as big as a large dinner plate? How big is your current tank? Res's are usually very territorial when they mature, especially the females. They really ARE solitary creatures, and don't need a play mate.

My turtle's friend is the turtle-shaped calcium block. He loves him! (: And I agree with Missi, your turtle probably doesn't need a companion. We might think he's bored, but maybe, he's really having lots of fun by himself!

if you want your turtle to have a play mate just put a mirror up to the side of the tank and your turtle has a free friend.... My male will spend hours just looking at himself and fluttering...

Hi Anna, I just replied on one of your other posts. Then I saw this one. Turtles may look sad, but really they aren't if they are being taken care of with their lighting, basking, tank size and feeding. Sliders mostly like to be alone. Get him a couple of things to play with. Get the mirror as suggested and suction cup it to the outside of his tank. Get him a ping pong ball or something he can push around the tank. Do you have any pictures of his set up? We can be more helpful if we see his habitat.
