I recieved a baby red ear slider as a gift last week and was curious...

How long do they live?

How big do they get (mine isn't much bigger than a silver dollar...)?

Welcome. With proper care, quite long. Exact time spans vary, but they can live 30 years and up.

What is your set-up like for your baby?

For now, he has a fairly small tank with one of those Turtle Dock floating rocks and some fish tank pebbles at the bottom. I went through most of this site and am going back to the pet store for more stuff tonight.

They can get quite big. Mine is a male who is 5 years old and 7" Shell length only. Males get 8-9" and females get larger up to 12". Good that you are reading up on it. They take a lot of care and maintenance but are SO worth it.
