General Care Discussion :: She Tore the Plastic Plants Apart!

Taking care of your turtle's overall health.

Oh My! Ok. I thought y'all said if I put the plastic plants in the pond she would bite on it and realize it didn't have taste or smell and stop. I kept checking on her and all seemed fine. Then the next day after I woke up and checked on fluffy in the afternoon, there were pieces of the plastic lillie pads floating all over the pond.

What if she swallowed some? Will she be okay? What should I do? I hope she spit it all out.

Fluffy knows I feed her and I put a bright green plastic lillie pad in the pond and she thought it had to be food! She trusts me and I am sad. I just wanted her to have something to hide under. :(

P.S. Sorry to make a new topic about it, but I wanted everyone to see it for advise.

I wouldn't worry too much. She probably saw it, didn't want it there and took care of it herself. You'll just have to experiment to see what she'll accept and what she wont.

 Fluffy is an AWSOME name for a turtle :)
As Jen said, some are just destructo-turtle, and like to destroy things just for fun. It's the same with Ralph. He usually doesn't eat what he shreds (even live plants sometimes )
Just make sure you got all the bits out, and as long as she keeps eating and pooping, you're in good shape :)
