You can put most fish in with a RES, but I think everyone on this board agrees that no matter how friendly your turtle & fish seem towards each other, sooner or later it will become a snack for your RES.

I would not even put them together under supervision.

Hey my turtle eats fish except for the ones that have been with him since he was little. Anyone else that gets put in gets eaten or killed. I wouldn't do it. Not if I loved my fish.

lol, the only reason why your turtle stares and loves your Beta fish is only because in his mind, hes thinkin "Man....that fish looks tasty.."

aww you use betta's as feeder fish? You could sell those or something, I think betta's are too "majestic" to be feeder fish...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think he puts the bettas that aren't "pretty" enough in as feeders.

i dont think that bettas of any color should be put in. we had a bunch for a while then just gave up on them cause they always died. but i do agree, all fish in a turtle tank will get eaten. my turtles had a bunch of rosey reds in theri tank, and managed to corner them all in a maner of seconds and ate them all. ive even heard of turtles ganging up on coy fish and eating them!

Anything you put in your turtles tank can and will possibly become his dinner. So unless you aren't too attached to your Betta...better to leave them separate.

i tried putting my betta in with my two turtles and they just hellaciously attacked it so i had to take it out. the only thing that can survive in my tank with the turtles are rosey red minnows, too fast for them to catch! feeder guppies also last a while but eventually they're caught off guard swimming
