pyramiding is when each individual scute is raised in the shape of a pyramid. It causes the shell to have a bumpy look. It comes from overfeeding and a diet that is too high in protein. It is also usually a sign of other internal problems from those same factors. Your turtles shell should be smooth from one scute to the next.
Stacking is when one turtle gets on top of of the other turtle(s) in an effort to better reach the heat.
