General Care Discussion :: My filter spits out carbon dust

I have a cannister filter, an xp3, but I have been buying prebagged carbon for it. Is it better to get this and bag it yourself? can you get the bags at bigal's too? Will it stop the 30 minute session of boredom over the sink?

You still have to soak and them rinse them, but they rinse clear in a couple minutes....I think I'm using the 800 micron bags. I've heard some people use pantyhose!
