My hatchling RES sleeps when the lights go out (sometimes takes him a little while to find a sleeping spot) until usually when the lights come back on in the morning- and sometimes (rarely) I'll find him sleeping while he's basking- but the slightest noise wakes him up and he shoots back into the water! I'm not sure of actual time of sleep though! are your turtles lethargic at all?
Well I'm really not sure how much he sleeps, and I wouldn't say he's lethargic..
He looks at his food swims around and sleeps (even with the light on) and he sleeps when I turn the light off to..
so yea.. the lil guys just taking lots and lots of naps.. and I don't get why.. is it normal?
The water temp is right I think.. 78? and the thermometer says the water isn't too cold...
and talking of cold.. a storm might hit my bit of town today.. = power outage= no school
I think tutles do tend to nap during the day. Mine are about 6 months old now, and they take several naps during the day. They sleep while basking occasionally, which is the only time I can sneak up on them. As long as they are frisky and eating well they are probably fine.
