General Care Discussion :: my res pooped a rock!!!

yesterday i had the fear that my res may have swallowed a small rock. it was enlarging its neck and opening its mouth, but only in 1 corner of the tank. and in that corner were bubbles being made by the filter, so i thought the bubbles were doing this. today i removed all the rocks, and it pooped, while it was eating it i noticed sumthing small and black in the poop and it was small rock. i havent seen it enalrge its neck anymore. is my turtle fine now? it got that rock out, is it all right?

Make sure that you remove the rocks from the waste, or your turtle could eat them again. Keep an eye on the waste for at least a week and watch for anymore to be passed, even though you have removed them. Your turtle should be fine, it's a good sign that he's pooing.

i did remove it. are there any side effects after pooping a rock? i dont no if this is me being paranoid or not but i looked at its back leg fat, and it looks saggy. could this mean anything or am i just being paranoid?

Was the rock smooth? Is it possible that your RES ate more than what you saw?

it wasnt smooth from what i remember

Watch for blood in the waste.. if there is blood, take your turt to the vet.. It could have scraped the intestines as it passed if it wasnt smooth...
