I just recently cleaned out my tank but I filled it with warm water. Mty digital thermometer shows it to be 92.4 F . Will this be way too warm for them. I assume the water temp will go down but is it ok to keep my turtles in the tank with the water temp that high.

Yeah that temp is too warm, you can always empty some of the warm water out and add cooler water.

You know thats a great idea. I will do that. It was my first time to use the Python so I ended up with too much warm water. Oh well you learn as you go.

There was a thread somewhere here about using hot water in your turtle tanks. Although I did use some.. I usually started with cold water and added the hot/warm to bring it up to temp. It's much easier to do that way

Besides what feels warm to a turtle is usually colder ot us.. as it's like 20 degrees lower than our body temp.

To some up that thread....The water that flows in your hot water pipes is heated (of course) and when it is heated, it deposits its junk in your pipes. Such as chlorine, some of the metals in it, so everytime you turn on your hot water some of that junk comes out. It's alright to use some warm water, but I wouldn't do a 100% water change with warm water...

i use very very little warm water with my changes. In fact, most of the time i'm relatively close to the temp needed. And when i'm adding 1 gal to 55 gal, as long as i'm close, i'm ok.

But when i set up my guppy tank i just guessed at the temp of the water and found it to be at 78 degrees.
