General Care Discussion :: Hatchling - Right Next To Heater

Taking care of your turtle's overall health.

Hi, I just got 2 baby RES and have been looking around the forum/stickies.

I was just wondering if it was normal for one of the RES to be right next to the water heater and the corner wall. It is almost as if he is stuck there in that small space, but he isn't. Is that okay/normal?

Also what sort of more entertaining things such as plants should I put in the tank so it isn't just a barebottom + water that are easy to buy/accesible? Thanks.

dont worry about it, man. my red ear sliders do that all the time they have theyre "favorite little corners" mine also hangout around the heater and under the filter as well. as for decorating you can use river rocks that are bigger than your turtles head, and you can pick up some plants so they can rest and sleep in.you just have to suction cup them to the bottom.maybe an aquarium background would look nice too?
